BIO

Since 1997, Scott Dutertre has worked with thousands of hockey players and coaches from around the world. His clients include premier athletes competing in the NHL, top European leagues, and on national teams. Trusted by professional agents to lead off-season development programs, Scott brings a deep, practical understanding of what it takes to compete at the highest levels. His international coaching experience includes work with Ice Hockey Australia’s National Team Development Programs.

Scott is a sought-after speaker, having presented at numerous coaching clinics across Canada and abroad, most recently as the keynote speaker for Hockey Canada’s High Performance Coaching Certification Program. He has also contributed to the design and development of academy and training models for the University of Saskatchewan and multisport facilities throughout Western Canada.

Alongside his work in skill development, Scott has coached junior, college, and professional hockey since 1999. His résumé includes roles with the University of Saskatchewan’s Men’s and Women’s hockey programs, the WHL’s Swift Current Broncos, and his current position as Associate Coach of the Tulsa Oilers, the Anaheim Ducks' ECHL affiliate.

Scott’s coaching philosophy is uniquely shaped by his background in design. After completing the Digital Design Program at Vancouver Film School, he worked as a freelance designer creating branding, UX/UI experiences, marketing strategies, and promotional media. This creative lens allows him to approach coaching through a modern, systems-based mindset focused on intentional culture building.

Off the ice, Scott is a committed community volunteer, with a focus on mental health advocacy and providing opportunities for underserved youth. He just finished his first book Coaching By Design - Rethink The Way You Lead, Redesign The Way You Coach.
